The four primary elements of the Paseo movement are the Paseo Weekend, Reunion Group, Ultreya, and the Servant Community.
Paseo Weekends are currently held at the Lone Star Retreat Center, Tomball, Texas. Reunion Groups are held at various venues, including the church, local restaurants, or individual homes. Ultreyas are currently being held at the DWGC Cathedral.
We understand that the Diocese of the West Coast is quite large geographically and, ultimately, we hope to establish weekends throughout the Diocese. We have resources in this area to provide no-cost housing for you on Wednesday before the weekend or on Sunday evening after the weekend. We also have Cathedral and Church families who are willing to care for your children over the weekend.
So, you can make this a truly family event!
PASEO WEEKENDS
Paseo weekends are at the heart of the Paseo movement. Over a four-day weekend (Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon), participants, along with clergy and lay team members, form a unique, loving Christian community. The weekend includes talks, discussions, music, fun activities, and restful times, all delivered in a climate of love and joy. Be prepared for lots of laughter, some occasional healing tears, and maybe even some “ah-ha” experiences. Paseo weekends are co-ed and welcome men, women, and married couples.

Our next Paseo weekend is January 9 through January 12, 2025, at the Lone Star Retreat Center (Tomball, Texas). We can’t wait to see you!
ULTREYA
Ultreya is the regular “usually quarterly” meeting of the Paseo “fourth-day” community. The fourth-day community is made up of Christians who have completed their 4-day weekend (Paseo, Cursillo, Tres Dias, Walk to Emmaus, Via de Cristo). It is an opportunity to renew weekend relationships and to meet new fourth-day participants. Meetings include a fourth-day speaker, wonderful live music, and an assortment of food and refreshments. If time allows, we will have a brief reunion group.
REUNION GROUP
Group reunion is a group of friends, perhaps 3 – 6 in number, who agree to meet together regularly, share their spiritual journeys, and hold one another accountable in their growth in Christ. Group reunion seeks to encourage members to take their Paseo Weekend experience out into the world by maintaining the Paseo ideals, strengthening one another to live the life of grace, and demonstrating that life of grace to others. We have several ongoing reunion groups, some of which are accepting new members. We will be glad to help you form a new reunion group (starting with as few as 3 people). We are also developing a “Zoom” reunion group format. For more information about Diocesan reunion groups Click on MORE INFO >> button.
SERVANT COMMUNITY
The Servant Community is made up of members of the fourth-day community who wish to be actively involved in the support of all activities of the DWGC Paseo movement, including Paseo weekends, reunion groups, and Ultreyas. Working through various committees, members actively encourage, enhance, and grow the Paseo movement. They create an environment of mutual trust, respect, and self-sacrifice; one that epitomizes the concept of servant leader. They strive to be fully attuned to the Paseo method of piety, study, and action, and are intent on listening to the Lord, particularly as He communicates to them through other Community leaders.
